I'm not traveling this week, and this isn't really related to work, but in the spirit of "is this my life?" I wanted to include this anecdote:

I finally took the Kia into a mechanic today... who fixed the same problem as last year (see also: Anna Hates Her Car*)... ie the front left tire (instead of the rear right tire) had been moving “left and right and up and down and left and right,” which is particularly troubling since I was pretty sure then, as now, that they are only supposed to move AROUND IN A CIRCLE. Alas.

They fixed my car the same afternoon,** which is spectacular, AND Marvin himSELF gave me a free mix CD! Of 80s and 90s dance music. Totally. Great.

Imagine my glee driving away from Marvin's, having narrowly escaped wheel-falling-off-death yet again, listening to this.....




* Dear Mom and Dad: I actually love having my car and it is wonderful and I thank you every day.

** Marvin's Auto Service on Belmont is highly recommended... by me, who knows nothing about cars or mechanics whatsoever, so take that for what it's worth. And I've heard rumors that you can go even if you do not speak Spanish.
