Salisbury, MD

The home of lonelygirl15, the (fake) voice of a generation!

I mean, really. What's a date, anyway?

I flew in on Sunday night (argh) and drove a few hours in the middle of the night (grr, argh) to Salisbury, and now I'm here for a long week of file cleanup. A management company that we're told is known locally for turning pretty awful properties around was asked, as a favor to the owner, to take over a half-empty fenced-in Section 8 property with around-the-clock policemen checking IDs at the gate... not the nicest place I've been, and the files are a disaster. In most of them, you can't even tell how many people live in the apartment. We're hoping to get them on track enough so that they can pass their 2010 reviews and fill the 80-some vacancies, and then work on making it a nicer place to live. And there's a swimming pool, so I feel good things.

The town itself seems alright! I've certainly been worse places... the downtown doesn't seem to have revitalized just yet, but there's some good history here, and with a university and river views, I can imagine that it's only a matter of time. And I did find a little drive-through organic coffee shop! So I'm basically set to move in.
