Back in Independence! I was here about a year ago, when I first started this job, and they have done a huge lease-up in the interim and moved in almost 300 new households. So, these are the files that we are reviewing. Or attempting to review, even though it looks like we'll get about halfway through. It's encouraging to see how much better I am at this than I was a year ago!
This is really a beautiful place though, made up of small townhouses spread over a neighborhood of rolling hills. And this management company, in my opinion, does a great job of building community. The center we're working in is new, and they have a computer lab and groups that meet all week, such as a WIC nutrition program, support groups for parents, etc etc. And today is their summer safety fair, like the one I was privileged to attend at Grove Parc in Chicago! They have snacks and music and games for kids outside, and information for them and their parents on local free summer programs to get involved in. I hope I'm still here for four-year-old-booty-shaking o'clock!
